Khammam (Telangana), Sept. 11 -- The "Women's Mart" established in Khammam district has emerged as a model for women's empowerment, achieving remarkable results in just three months.
Products made by women's self-help groups (SHGs) are reaching consumers directly, eliminating middlemen, ensuring fair prices, and generating employment opportunities for women in both rural and urban areas.
So far, products worth Rs 25 lakh have been purchased from women's groups, with daily sales averaging Rs 35,000 on regular days and crossing Rs 50,000 on weekends. With total sales of Rs 18.75 lakh, the mart has moved towards profitability within a short span of time.
