Chandigarh, Jan. 19 -- Senior Congress leader and Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, alleging large-scale misuse of public funds in a road maintenance project approved by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA).

Addressing the media, Khaira said GMADA has floated tenders for the maintenance, resurfacing and beautification of about 83 km roads in Mohali for a period of 10 years. According to him, the estimated cost works out to nearly Rs 10 crore per km, taking the total project value close to Rs1,000 crore.
