Kolkata, June 26 -- After evading authorities for over four years, Arun Dey, a prime accused in the 2021 post-poll violence case involving the murder of BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar in Kolkata, was today arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Dey had been on the run since the incident and carried a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest.

According to sources, Dey was apprehended from a secret hideout in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Further details regarding the arrest are awaited.
