Thiruvananthapuram, May 28 -- In a significant crackdown on illegal recruitment practices, the office of the Protector of Emigrants (POE), along with the Police Department, conducted a series of raids on multiple recruiting agencies in Kerala.
The operation, aimed at curbing the exploitation of migrant workers, uncovered widespread unscrupulous activities, including fraudulent documentation, unauthorised recruitment, and violations of the Emigration Act, 1983.
During these raids, officials seized incriminating documents (in soft as well as hard copies), including fake employment contracts and misleading advertisements, etc., targeting vulnerable job seekers.
