Kannur, Oct. 27 -- Senior Congress leader and former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President K Sudhakaran, MP, today said that the Congress is willing to accept the Communist Party of India (CPI), the main ally of the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), if the ruling front collapses. He clarified that he would personally welcome the CPI if it decides to leave the alliance.

Sudhakaran's remarks came in Kannur on Monday, in response to questions about the inconclusive talks held at the Alappuzha guest house between CPI State secretary Binoy Viswam, its ministers, and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is also the CPI(M) Polit Bureau member.
