Kannur, March 17 -- Kerala Chief Minister and CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, Pinarayi Vijayan, today officially launched his campaign for the April 9 State Assembly election.
He is seeking a third consecutive term from the Dharmadam Assembly constituency in northern Kerala.
He arrived at Kannur International Airport around 3 PM and led a roadshow from Mattanur to his hometown, Pinarayi, concluding around 5 PM. Party workers gave him a warm reception, by shouting slogans, though he did not address the gathering and only waved to supporters. However, he alighted from the car and walked along with district secretary K K Raghesh and top leaders assembled there for a few minutes.
