Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 24 -- Congress Working Committee member Ramesh Chennithala today called for a strategic shift in Kerala's development approach, emphasizing value-added agriculture, investor-friendly reforms and integrated port-led economic growth.
He made the remarks while addressing the Kerala Development Summit 2026, organised under the Manorama Yearbook initiative here.
Highlighting the need to move beyond Kerala's "trade and commission culture", Chennithala said the state must focus on creating value-added products in the agriculture sector to generate jobs and boost revenue, rather than relying heavily on consumerism and mall-driven economic activity.
