Thiruvananthapuram, March 21 -- Prominent leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, on Saturday formally filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections 2026.

Chandrasekhar submitted his nomination from the Nemom constituency, marking his official entry into the electoral fray.

Nemom is considered a key seat for the BJP, as it had earlier given the party its only Assembly victory in Kerala.

Several other BJP candidates including former state president and former union minister V Muraleedharan filed nomination from Kazhakkutam constituency.
