Kottayam (Kerala), Feb. 28 -- Erattupetta Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Friday granted bail to BJP leader PC George, who was remanded to 14-day custody, citing health complications.
On February 24, George was in judicial custody in connection with his remarks against a community allegedly having terrorist links in India.
Earlier, an FIR was registered against George for his comment during a TV Channel discussion on January 5. He had then equated a section of Muslims in India with terrorists and demanded they go to Pakistan.
George, a seven-time MLA and former Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) leader surrendered before a Magistrate court at Erattupetta in Kottayam in connection with the case.
