Thiruvananthapuram, May 3 -- Counting of votes for all 140 Assembly constituencies in the 2026 elections will take place on May 4 from 8 am, with authorities putting in place extensive arrangements, tight security, and multi-layered transparency measures to ensure a smooth, accurate, and credible process.

The counting exercise will be conducted across 140 centres located at 43 venues, with a total deployment of 15,465 officials. Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Rathan U. Kelkar said the operation will involve Returning Officers, 1,340 Additional Assistant Returning Officers, 4,208 micro observers, 4,208 counting supervisors, and 5,563 counting assistants.
