Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 7 -- The Kerala government will intensify its efforts to persuade the union government to revise the norms related to issuing caste certificates for Tamil-speaking minority communities that migrated to the state decades ago, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told State Assembly today.

Replying to a submission by A. Raja, the Chief Minister stated that, as per the existing rules, caste certificates are issued only to Tamil-speaking minority groups who migrated to Kerala and permanently settled there before 1950.
