Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 13 -- Kerala will launch exclusive Wellness Clinics for Women in all 5,415 People's Health Centres in the State from September 16.

The clinics, to function every Tuesday, will provide free check-ups for women, covering obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cancer screening and other health issues.

Addressing health workers through a Facebook Live session, Health Minister Veena George said the initiative is part of the state's priority focus on women's health.

"Kerala has already screened over 18 lakh women for cancer and launched campaigns against anaemia. The new clinics will further strengthen preventive care," she noted.
