Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 3 -- The Kerala government has decided to convene district-level meetings with private ambulance operators to address growing concerns over their services.
The decision was announced following a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, a release said.
The initiative comes after complaints that some private ambulance drivers are transporting accident victims and critically ill patients to private hospitals, often without patient consent, in exchange for commissions. In many cases, relatives are reportedly misled with claims that government hospitals do not offer adequate medical care.
