Kannur, April 13 -- Kerala Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday announced that the state will be declared free from" Extreme Poverty" by November 1.
Addressing a function held at the Pinarayi Convention Centre, he said that his "Dharmadam assembly constituency "was declared the first among Kerala's 140 assembly constituencies to eradicate extreme poverty.
Vijayan said the initiative began three years ago with a comprehensive government project aimed at eradicating extreme poverty across the State. The effort was marked by coordinated interventions from various departments, especially local self government institutions, working unitedly.
