Bengaluru, April 4 -- A 36-year-old woman techie has gone missing during a solo trekking trip in Karnataka's Kodagu district, triggering an intensive search operation, officials said on Saturday.

The missing woman, identified as Sharanya GS, an IT professional from Kerala, had checked into a homestay in Yavakapadi village near Napoklu before setting out on April 2 to trek Tadiandamol, the highest peak in the district.

According to police, she completed entry formalities at the forest department checkpost and was advised to join a group of trekkers due to reported wild elephant movement in the area. While the group returned safely by evening, she failed to return, raising alarm.
