Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 9 -- In the Sabarimala gold theft case, Thantri (chief priest) Kandararu Rajeevaru, who was arrested today in connection with the investigation, has now been remanded until January 23.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is probing the gold theft carried out the arrest. His bail petition is scheduled for consideration on January 13.
Rajeevaru was summoned to Thiruvananthapuram this morning and questioned at the Crime Branch office under the supervision of Crime Branch ADGP H. Venkatesh.
Following the questioning, he was taken to the SIT office in Enchakkal, where the arrest was formalized.
