Thiruvananthapuram, July 18 -- To reduce the financial burden on cancer patients, the Kerala government's 'Zero Profit Counter' initiative has emerged as a remarkable success, standing out as yet another example of the 'Kerala Model' by providing anti-cancer drugs at the lowest possible prices.

Expensive cancer medications are being provided at drastically reduced prices at the Zero Profit Counter managed by the Kerala Medical Services Corporation at the Government Victoria Hospital in Kollam district in the State. "A total of 40 varieties of medicines are available at this counter. For instance, a drug priced at Rs 42,350 in the open market is sold here for just Rs 5,552," sources said.
