Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 6 -- The Kerala government has once again reaffirmed its firm stand against the implementation of the National Population Register (NPR), issuing a fresh order ahead of the proposed nationwide Census exercise.

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) government has made it categorically clear that the NPR will not be implemented in Kerala under any circumstances.

As early as 2019, the state had ordered the suspension of all procedures related to the NPR, a position it has consistently maintained. Subsequently, Census-related activities across the country were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
