Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 26 -- Heavy rains continued across Kerala today, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rains (7-11 cm in 24 hours) at isolated places in Kerala and Lakshadweep till tomorrow.

With the water level rising at the Aruvikkara reservoir, shutters one to five were raised by 15 cm each, totalling 100 cm, at 8 am. Authorities have advised residents living downstream to remain vigilant.

In view of the downpour, the District Collector declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges, in Thiruvananthapuram. However, scheduled public examinations will be conducted as planned.
