Thiruvananthapuram, April 9 -- With palpable enthusiasm, voters across Kerala exercised their franchise as polling concluded at 6 pm on Thursday, recording a turnout of 77.25 per centThis figure marks a notable increase from the 74.06 pc turnout during the 2021 assembly elections, signaling renewed public engagement in the state's democratic process.
A total of 883 candidates contested the elections following an intense 23-day campaign, with voting conducted at 30,495 polling booths spread across all 140 constituencies. The counting of votes and declaration of results is scheduled for May 4, 2026.
