Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 16 -- The upgraded 112 services (Next Generation Emergency Response Support System - ERSS 112) were launched at the Kerala Police Headquarters, providing a single emergency number-112-for police, fire, and ambulance services.

Powered by advanced technology, the new-generation ERSS aims to enhance service availability and ensure faster response. The upgraded system can cut response time by up to three minutes compared to the existing setup.

In addition to existing communication channels such as calls, SOS, SMS, and email, the new system allows the public to register complaints through WhatsApp, web requests, and a chatbot.
