Thiruvananthapuram, July 19 -- The Kerala Police has formed 16-member teams in every district to expedite investigations in POCSO cases across the State.

These teams, operating under the supervision of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) in all 20 police districts, will handle POCSO-related investigations.

The decision to form these teams was based on a recommendation submitted by the State Police Chief, which has been approved by the government.

As per the order, each district team will consist of 2 Sub-Inspectors (SIs), 2 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), 6 Senior Civil Police Officers (SCPOs), and 5 Civil Police Officers (CPOs), all functioning under the DySP concerned.
