Kochi, Oct. 15 -- Kerala paid a heartfelt farewell to Raila Odinga, the veteran Kenyan leader and former Prime Minister, who passed away at the age of 80 while undergoing Ayurvedic treatment in the State.
Odinga, who had been receiving treatment at a private Ayurvedic hospital in Koothattukulam, Ernakulam district, collapsed during his morning walk and suffered a cardiac arrest today. Despite immediate medical attention, he was declared dead at 9.52 a.m at Devamatha Hospital.
Born on January 7, 1945, Raila Odinga was one of Africa's most influential political figures, celebrated for his decades-long struggle for democracy and social justice in Kenya.
