Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 24 -- The Kerala State Human Rights Commission has directed that students with Type-1 diabetes appearing for CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations be granted additional time, in line with provisions already implemented by the Kerala government.

Emphasising the urgency of the matter, Commission Chairperson Justice Alexander Thomas issued directions to the CBSE Secretary and the Kerala Regional Director, stating that denying extra time to such students would violate their right to equality. The Commission warned that non-compliance could amount to a legal violation.
