Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 21 -- Stronger laws alone cannot end child trafficking unless they are backed by swift prosecution, inter-agency coordination, and victim rehabilitation, experts and officials underlined at a state-level consultation on human trafficking held at the Police Training College here.
The consultation, titled "Human Trafficking in India: Strengthening Convergence and Prevention Mechanisms", was organised by Just Rights for Children (JRC) in collaboration with the Kerala Police.
Speakers stressed the urgent need to bridge the gap between rescue operations and prosecution, noting that delays often leave child victims vulnerable to repeated exploitation through forced labour, trafficking, marriage, and sexual abuse.
