Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 29 -- With the Kerala local body elections scheduled for December 9 and 11, a significant number of Kudumbashree Harithakarmasena workers are entering the electoral arena, with officials reporting that 547 members across the state will contest, reflecting their growing influence in grassroots politics.

The Harithakarmasena, part of the Kudumbashree initiative, is a community-based workforce involved in waste collection, sanitation, and environmental management, and their daily interaction with households has helped them build strong community trust that gives them a distinct electoral advantage.
