Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 9 -- Voter participation in the Kerala local body elections continued to pick up pace by Tuesday afternoon, with multiple districts surpassing the 50 percent turnout mark, according to preliminary data issued by election officials.
Ernakulam topped the turnout chart with 50.65 percent, followed closely by Alappuzha at 50.27 percent. Kottayam and Kollam reported 48.19 percent each, reflecting a consistent rise in voter activity as polling progressed, sources said.
