Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 6 -- The public campaigning for the first phase of Kerala's local body elections will end at 6 pm on Sunday.

Kerala State Election Commission has cautioned political parties to ensure that their final campaign activities remain peaceful and do not create any law-and-order concerns.

The December 9 polling will be held in seven districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Ernakulam. Campaigning in these districts must stop 48 hours before voting, in accordance with Section 126(1) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
