Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 25 -- Kerala has scripted history by becoming the first state in India to finalise an infrastructure development contract for an industrial corridor smart city project.
The landmark Rs 1,316.13 crore EPC deal for the Palakkad Industrial Smart City, part of the Kochi-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, has been awarded to a joint venture of Dilip Buildcon Ltd and PSP Projects Ltd.
The project, estimated at Rs 3,600 crore, will transform Palakkad into a modern manufacturing hub with world-class facilities. The contract covers roads, bridges, power distribution, sewerage systems, water supply, fire-fighting lines, effluent treatment plants and recycling networks. Construction is expected to begin shortly.
