Kozhikode, Sept. 17 -- Jaffer Abduraheem, 33, a sub-editor of Siraj Daily, a Malayalam daily, succumbed to his injuries today. He had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital since September 13 following a car accident at East Nadakkavu on the Kozhikode-Wayanad National Highway.
Jaffer is survived by his wife Zakia and parents Abduraheem and Jameela, residents of Kolil Moola near Munderimotta in Kannur district.
According to reports, Jaffer and his colleague Azeez were returning from Siraj Daily after their night duty when around 00:50 hours near the office, a speeding car mounted the footpath and hit them. Both were thrown off the footpath, however, Azeez escaped unhurt.
