Kochi, Dec. 13 -- Taking suo motu cognisance of the rising number of deaths due to falling of people into potholes, the Kerala High Court on Friday warned that if such incidents happen in the future, it would claim compensation from the officials concerned. The court said it would impose huge fines on the officials concerned that savings by seven generations would not be able to pay it up. The court formed a three-member panel of advocates to inspect the condition of roads in Kochi. The Amicus Curiae must submit the report by the next date of hearing on December 20. UNI GKN RJ 2323
