Thiruvananthapuram, Dec. 23 -- The Kerala government has decided to file an appeal against the verdict of the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court which acquitted Malayalam actor Dileep in a sensational 2017 actress assault case.
The decision was taken after the Director General of Prosecution recommended challenging the trial court judgment which acquitted Dileep while convicting six others involved in the crime.
The appeal will be filed in the Kerala High Court after it reopens following the Christmas vacation. Preparations are underway to finalise the legal grounds for the appeal, sources said.
