Kollam, May 26 -- Kerala Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal inaugurated a cricket stadium constructed by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) at Ezhukone on Monday.

The Minister said that with the establishment of this GRIHA-certified stadium, Ezhukone is set to become the cricket capital of Kollam district.

He emphasized that improvements in local transportation infrastructure, including the upcoming Ilanjikode bridge, will enhance access to the stadium and benefit the region at large.

The stadium is being constructed on a 10-acre site owned by the KCA in Ezhukone, Ilanjikode. KCA President Jayesh George announced that the first phase of the project, estimated to cost Rs 56 crore in total, will be completed by the end of 2026.
