Ahmedabad, Feb. 21 -- In a historic achievement, Kerala advanced to their maiden Ranji Trophy final after a dramatic draw against Gujarat in the first semifinal, securing a slender two-run first-innings lead.
Gujarat resumed their innings on Friday at 429 for seven, needing 29 runs to surpass Kerala's first-innings total of 457. Left-arm spinner Aditya Sarwate rose to the occasion, claiming all three remaining wickets. He had Jaymeet Patel (79) stumped by Mohammed Azharuddeen, trapped Siddharth Desai (30) lbw, and dismissed Arzan Nagwaswalla (10), bowling Gujarat out for 455 in 174.4 overs. Sarwate and Jalaj Saxena both finished with four wickets each, while MD Nidheesh and Nedumankuzhy Basil took one apiece.
