Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 3 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has sought the intervention of union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged assault of two Malayali students by police in New Delhi, demanding a high-level inquiry into the incident.
The students, I.D. Ashwanth and K. Sudhin, both studying at Zakir Husain Delhi College, were allegedly forced by the police to speak in Hindi and then subjected to a brutal attack.
Expressing "deep distress" over the matter, the Chief Minister said that if the allegations are found to be true, strict action must be taken against the erring officials.
