Thiruvananthapuram, March 26 -- Congress campaign committee chairman Ramesh Chennithala today alleged that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's recent statements against Rahul Gandhi and Opposition leader V. D. Satheesan stem from a growing fear of electoral defeat.
Talking to newspersons here, Chennithala said the Chief Minister's remarks were an attempt to mask the ruling front's anxiety over the Congress-led UDF's prospects in the upcoming elections.
He claimed that the realization of the Congress securing more than 100 seats has pushed Pinarayi Vijayan to resort to "cheap and desperate statements," saying that the Chief Minister is increasingly speaking in the tone and language of the BJP.
