Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 19 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Kerala-EU Blue Economy Conclave, "Blue Tides," highlighting the state's partnership with the European union in sustainable development of its blue economy.

The conclave, organized by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Kerala, in collaboration with the union Government and the European Union, aims to balance economic growth with ecological sustainability and livelihood opportunities.

Vijayan emphasized the significance of the blue economy for Kerala, noting its 600-kilometer coastline and the dependence of over a million people on fisheries and allied activities.
