Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 10 -- Kerala Chief Minister on Saturday rejected concerns raised about the Malayalam Language Bill, 2025, asserting that the apprehensions were unfounded and contrary to the inclusive intent of the legislation adopted by the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

Addressing the issue, the Chief Minister said Kerala's development trajectory has always been anchored in equality, brotherhood and comprehensive social progress, adding that the government remains steadfast in upholding the constitutional principles of secularism and pluralism.

He clarified that the Bill incorporates a Clause 7 which explicitly safeguard the rights of linguistic minorities, especially the Kannada- and Tamil-speaking communities.
