Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 1 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday strongly defended his conduct in connection with SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan, and said CPI leader Binoy Viswam was free to hold a differing personal opinion.

Vijayan also clarified his position on the Sabarimala gold smuggling case, alleged communal remarks, and recent controversy involving the Karnataka Chief Minister.

Responding to Binoy Viswam's criticism over his decision to offer Vellappally a ride in his official vehicle, Vijayan said he firmly believed his action was right and reiterated that Viswam was free to hold a personal opinion.
