Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 12 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticised Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar's circular directing Vice-Chancellors to observe August 14 as 'Partition Horror Remembrance Day,' calling it unacceptable and condemnable, and branding it a Sangh Parivar agenda.

He said the proposal to observe another commemorative day alongside August 15 originates from the ideological quarters of the Sangh Parivar.

"It is unconstitutional for the Raj Bhavan to issue action plans that align with the Sangh Parivar's divisive political agenda. Kerala will not allow its universities to be turned into platforms for implementing such an agenda," the Chief Minister said.
