Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 2 -- Kerala has lost one of its most distinguished cultural icons with the passing of Professor M.K. Sanu, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a condolence message on Saturday.

"A life that profoundly enriched contemporary Kerala through his actions, speeches, and writings has come to an end. His demise is an irreparable loss to society, especially to progressive movements," the Chief Minister stated.

Sanu Mash, as he was fondly known, was a calm yet resolute voice in Kerala's socio-cultural landscape. He made invaluable contributions across various spheres of Malayalam language and literature, making him a true pride of Kerala.
