Thiruvananthapuram, June 3 -- Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called on Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi on Tuesday.
During the interaction with the Chief Minister on various development projects, Ashwini Vaishnaw said his ministry is working on the 3rd and 4th line from North Kerala to South Kerala, so that both passengers and cargo can move by rail.
The Union Minister discussed key projects with the Chief Minister and sought his support for land acquisition, especially for Angamaly-Erumeli railway project and ROB/RUBs sanctioned in Kerala.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased Kerala's railway budget from average Rs 372 crore (2009-14) to Rs 3,042 crore in FY 2025-26, Vaishnaw added.
