Thiruvananthapuram, Feb. 12 -- In a landmark decision, the Kerala Cabinet has approved a Rs 741-crore expansion project for Kerala Paper Products Limited (KPPL), marking a major milestone in the revival and growth of the state's paper manufacturing sector.

Once completed and fully operational, KPPL is projected to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 1,500 crore. The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.

The ambitious project, aimed at enhancing production capacity and diversifying product segments, will be implemented at the Velloor-based KPPL, functioning under the State Industries Department. The expansion is expected to significantly strengthen Kerala's position in the national paper industry.
