Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 30 -- Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Sunday alleged that the CPM-led state government deliberately delayed action in the sexual assault case against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil to divert public attention from the Sabarimala gold theft scandal.
Chandrasekhar pointed out that the case against Mamkootathil was filed just days before elections, yet the Chief Minister did not initiate a suo motu investigation for months despite repeated BJP demands.
He accused the CPM of suddenly taking action now as a "desperate distraction" amid emerging links between top CPM and Congress leaders and the Sabarimala gold loot.
