Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 15 -- The 14th session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly commenced here today with obituary references to former Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, former Speaker and Minister P.P. Thankachan, and former Peermedu MLA Vazhoor Soman.
Moving the condolence resolutions, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the demise of V.S. Achuthanandan marked the end of an era in the State's socio-political history.
From his beginnings as a worker to his leadership roles as Chief Minister, Opposition Leader, and Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission, Achuthanandan embodied sacrifice, ideological commitment, and people's struggles, he noted.
