Palakkad, Aug. 19 -- To further strengthen the safety and security of women passengers, particularly those travelling alone, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Palakkad Division has introduced a focused initiative under the programme "Meri Saheli" today.
As part of the initiative, dedicated RPF teams are deployed at five major stations in the division. These teams identify women travelling alone, sensitise them about safety precautions, and provide them with key contact information such as the Rail Madad helpline (139) and digital grievance platforms like Instagram and CPGRAMS for immediate assistance in case of distress.
Passenger feedback and suggestions are also collected regularly to improve the programme further.
