Kannur, Jan. 8 -- The Thalassery Additional District Sessions Court (IV) on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to the seven RSS/BJP workers in connection with the murder of CPI(M) worker K Lathesh (28) of Thalai, in 2008.
Judge J Vimal also slapped a fine of Rs 1.40 lakh each to all the seven accused and ordered that the fine amount would be given to the kin of the victim's family.
The court acquitted three others (accused numbers 9 to 12) including a former BJP Thalassery Municipal councillor Ajesh due to lack of evidence.While, one of the accused (number 8), K. Ajith, died during the trial of the case.
