Kozhikode, April 16 -- The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Wednesday organised a huge mass rally demanding the repeal of the new WAQF Amendment Act in Kerala's Kozhikode beach.
IUML State President Panakkad Syed Sadhikali Shihab Thangal inaugurated the mass rally stating that "it is the responsibility of the Union government to protect both the faith of the citizens and the WAQF properties, but the BJP government is encroaching on the properties of the WAQF".
He emphasised that the issue did not affect only the Muslims. He said "This is a matter that threatens the Constitution and undermines the democratic fabric of the nation".
