Palakkad, Jan. 27 -- A Magistrate court here today sentenced Shafi Parambil, MP and KPCC working President, to imprisonment until the court adjourned and also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000, in connection with a case related to National Highway blockade at Chandranagar, in 2022.
The same court had issued an arrest warrant to Parambil last week for failing to appear in the court. Following this, he appeared before the court and the judge ordered the punishment to him.
The case was registered by Kasaba police on June 24, 2022 against Youth Congress worker led by Shafi Parambil, then Palakkad MLA and 40 others, following a road blockade at Chembilode bridge near Chandranagar, in protest against vandalisation of Rahul Gandhi's MP office at Wayana...
