Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 18 -- The row over a businessman's letter alleging financial dealings involving CPI(M) leaders in Kerala has intensified, with BJP and Congress demanding a central probe.
Former Union Minister and BJP leader V. Muraleedharan said the letter exposed "underworld-linked" transactions and asked if Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would seek a central investigation.
"The party secretary cannot dismiss it as nonsense. Transparency is a democratic obligation," he said in New Delhi.
Opposition leader V. D. Satheesan also sought clarity from the CPI(M), pointing out that the allegations involve senior functionaries and relatives of the party leadership.
